Pull up push down pull up push down pull up.......

I'm oop north at the moment, well it's probably the midlands actually. Cheshire to be exact, I dunno, it's where they talk different. Anyway I'm on a training course so i'm in a hotel for a couple of days, living like Alan Partridge, although I haven't made friends with any geordie barmen yet. Anyway, I took my bike because I was planning to go to Warrington which has a load of concrete bowls, but it tuns out it's further than I thought, and it rained a bit today so it might have been a wasted journey. I did an interweb search on something called Google, it's a 'search engine', you probably haven't heard of it, it's pretty hi-tech. Anyway I searched for BMX stuff here in Cheshire and I came across this brand new track they built, somewhat in preparation for 2012 olympics (for training) but I guess more just for kids to do something good. Now I used to ride at Farnham BMX track years ago, and back then it was one of the best in the country, quite steep and lots of jumps instead of rollers. i turned up here (on gate practice night) and was A) pretty amazed at just how dialled and actually well built this place is,and B) even a bit scared because the doubles all have really steep lips compared to what used to be (I was never a racer or anything, but I rode a fair few tracks. Maybe i'm just getting old and scared. I seem to remember being quite fit but I was sweating like Jeremy Beadle in a glove shop after 3 times round. I didn't need to peddle, I still got the pump! Some of the kids were pretty much going as fast as you could go, it was cool. I love how kids/people in general who race are a totally different breed of BMXer. No flashy shit, usually in trackies, poles apart from the fash skatepark twats we see all too much of.
I love watching racing and can't wait to see it in the olympics. Go here http://cheshireghostriders.blogspot.com/ to see their website.
There is a small skate plaza behind it too to keep the wood pushers happy. Pay a visit if you're passing through, it's in Tipkinder Park on Victoria Ave in Crewe.

Haggler On ZEAL

More old news now. Or new news if you didn't know already...

Mr.Hitchcox from ZEAL hooked Mr Andy 'Haggler' Hall up with some lovely new parts, i.e. most of a bike. He's riding a Sputnic with Superstar, Sputnic and Mankind parts. Its fresh as a daisy, and since his bike was put together by people who know how to put a bike together it is pretty bloody dialled. Even the wheels which never went round go round now (he'd pretty much have to pedal downhill to keep up with the people coasting along before now).

Haggler engraving his postcode in his frame incase the Finchampsted mafia have it away like.

Yeah new bike. It won't stay like this for long I'm sure....

See....

He didn't.

Well done son.

Arrrr! Soo close.

I'm a slack old thing sometimes, hence the reason i'm only just putting up pics from 2 weekends ago. Maybe it was one weekend ago, i dunno, it was when the snow happened. Anyway we went to sheffield to see Snowy aka Green Bike Steve (nobody knows him as snowy up there - he's trying to hide from that one) and do some riding. The weather was shit so we had to go indoors. I couldn't even ride cos i had a fat painful hand after mashing it up a bit, so i just hung out and took some pics.

Anyway my main point here is the most brazen thing i've seen for ages. At leeds park there is a 6 or 7 foot bowl with a big iron support set back about 5 feet. Mayo wanted to walltap it, and kind of suggested over a cuppa that he wanted hag to footjam it. We laughed, with our little fingers pointing in the air (because we drink tea like that). The we suggested that to Hag, and he went a bit quiet, which normally means he want to do it.

Long story short... session on. Mayo getting right up there - it's brazen enough for a walltap, and at least you can pull back out of a walltap. Hag and mayo keep hitting this thing time and time again, Mayo pulled it in the end. Hags bike was getting so fucked every time he jumped off (more than it normally is), it would bounce off the coping and go cartwheeling in to the bowl. He was getting bruised feet too. Still carried on though. He was soooo close to this. I reckon he could have scammed it a couple of times too, just not to be this time. The pics came out good so i'm putting them up anyway.

Black is another close but no cigar winner, just failing to pull the toothpic on the sub a few times. He officially has the best toothpics. Just hanging up a bit on the way in. It's coming though, and it's gonna be good.

When we weren't being in an indoor park we were being in an outdoor not park trying to find this reservoir halfpipe. Snowy is crap at directions. Probably as bad, if not worse than Dayson. Anyway we found it in the end. It was cold. It wasn't snowing to start with so the bikes came out. Then immediately after people were ready to ride the blizzard happened. It was fun anyway, maybe less fun for the ones who had to take their bikes apart again and try to get them in the car in minus 40.

No thanks....

U-G-L-Y You Ain't Got No Alibi You Ugleh!

Said Joanne, my beautiful ladywife to me one morning. That's not strictly true, but I am pretty ugly. So i decided to try this thing I saw on American Psycho. It's something girls do. Imagine my delight when I found out I could buy one for a mere 98p from Asda, and it's a mans one. I guess that just means it's got more in it because we have bigger faces.

Remember at school when you put glue over your hand, waited for it to dry, then peeled it off pretending it was skin? This is the same except you are allowed to do it. It would take about 30 sachets to cover your whole body (in Joannes estimation).

1. Open Packet of purple man cream N/H

2. Apply to face, become shiny, wait 20 mins while looking thoughtful. Don't move.

3. Stand in front of large (dirty) hallway mirror.

4. Start Peeling!

5. Take your time. Try and get it on one piece, like after bad sunburn. (you can't eat if after though).

6. Pull it around a bit while wifey takes pictures.

7. Show all the dead skin stuck to glue.

8. Have a tanned face in the mirror- continue to peel

9. Make a funny skin/glue hood

10. Put in the scary eyes. Wash before use. Don't share with others.

11. Look dashing with a beard and contemplate keeping on face for a day or 2

12. Complete removal of glue

13. Get the bits you missed (try not to get it stuck in your eyebrows because that hurts getting it off.)

14. Triumphantly display first successful facial peel and stroke clean face.

15. (not pictured) Wrap up in a warm blanket, watch dancing and boybands on Youtube for 2 hours while eating jellybeans.

I never said I was Rock and Roll!
